The Nischay Yan programme is being implemented in Coochbehar district of West Bengal to serve the people of Coochbehar in need of emergency medical transportation and ensure easy and timely access to an ambulance by dialing a simple 24-hour toll free number 102.

The special thrust is being given on maternal and child health related emergencies thereby augmenting institutional deliveries and reduction of MMR and IMR. At present, there are 58 ambulances working under this programme. Throughout the year, the Nischay Yan has served 14,902 times for transportation of pregnant mother, babies to hospital and returning them to home from hospital.
