Women Empowerment Programme at Ghatsila :

The Women Empowerment Programme is being implemented in 12 villages of Dhalbhumgarh block under East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand State.  The programme aims at strengthening the women folk to meet the emerging challenges with self-confidence and improving the economic status through formation of Self Help Groups (SHGs). 36 groups have been formed in which 437 women are associated from Moudasoli and Chukripara of Dhalbhumgarh block.

Achievements :

  • To increase the self-confidence among the women.
  • To generate awareness in perspective of social, economic and cultural issues.
  • To improve the economic status of the reference people.
  • To regularize the saving practice of the group.

Women Empowerment Programme at Pathar Pratima :

We have formed 305 numbers of Self Help Groups (SHGs) and People’s Organisation (PO) in twenty villages of Pathar Pratima block of South 24-Parganas. Previously, we have formed these SHGs and we have linked them with the banks and different resource sharing agencies and govt. schemes like; DRDC, ‘ananda dhara’ etc.

Presently, we are engaged in different awareness programme and capacity building processes with these SHGs.  The programme aims at strengthening the women folk to meet the emerging challenges with self-confidence and improving their economic status.

Objective :

  • To strengthen the women folk to meet the emerging challenges.
  • To increase the self-confidence among the women.
  • To regularize the saving practice of the group.
  • To improve the economic status of the reference people.
  • To improve the health status of the mothers, children and adolescents.

Achievements :

  • The women are raising voices against the atrocities.
  • They are now taking decision in their family matters which was very difficult earlier.
  • The income level of the women is now increased and they are now contributing to meet family expenditure. The attitudinal change has been seen among the male members.
  • Most of the children are now attending school.
  • The community people are now much aware about their health and hygiene, as a result; the institutional delivery has been increased, rate of birth and death registration have been increased, people adopted both temporary and permanent methods of family planning and the rate of child immunization has been increased.
