Achievements
- 4034 Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) have been trained who are working successfully on the health care programme among the vulnerable villagers. 50% child death could be reduced.
- Approximately 80% immunization and 60% institutional delivery are being ensured.
- Health clinics are running successfully and, on an average, 4300 villagers are being treated annually.
- The unscientific practice in Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) is significantly reduced.
- The child marriage in our working areas is stopped largely.
- More than 500 villagers are being educated and benefited from the non-formal education centres in every year.
- 20% of the dropout’s children have been taken up in the mainstream education.
- 19 People’s Organizations (POs) and Community Based Organigation (CBOs) comprising 678 members both male (20%) and female (80%) were formed. These are covering the entire population of the intervention areas to execute the village development work.
- Twenty-seven women from the POs/CBOs have been elected in PRI body (In 2009 PRI election).
- About 30% increase in people’s participation most of them are women in the Gram Sabha and Gram Sansad meeting.
- Twenty-five Gram Sabha / PRI resource management plans have been prepared by the villagers themselves. The execution is also being done by them with active participation of women.
- More than 850 families have excavated ponds and they are getting the benefit of both pisciculture and kitchen garden in the adjoining areas. A result is the seasonal migration checked significantly.
- 10-20 % migration could be checked as a result of ensured livelihood option.
- At least 1000 children have been educated on the child rights.
- Women and child trafficking has been reduced by 30%, and 98 trafficked girls have been rescued and rehabilitated.
- 2576 Self Help Groups (SHGs) have been formed covering of about 25,000 families. The majority of the members are women. A sum of Rs.1.5 crores (approximate) has been mobilized as savings of the groups. At present 30-40% members are getting loans from the Banks and the District Rural Development Cell providing subsidy for improvement of their life and livelihood.
- SPAR got the status as an observer organizer under the United Nation Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
- At least 200 students from ST. Xavier’s, Ranchi, Biswa Bharati, University Santinikaten, Bidyasagar University, Kolkata University, United Theological College, Bangalore, Kalyani University, INGOUE, Netaji Subhash Open University etc. have completed their Internship.
- Ten women’s are promoted as a district level trainer and earn 3,000.00 to 4,000.00 in a month.
- More than 1500 children have been rescued and back their own home. Some of kept in Government home with proper rehabilitations and also some of the children repatriated with Bangladesh Government.
- More than 5000 women’s are provide financially support for promote their live and livelihood through kitchen garden, guttery, piggery, poultry and different agricultural programme.
- 1735 (M 696 and F 1039) social leaders have been promoted.
- 3091 school children of 39 schools have come under Eye Screening and 1235 spectacles were distributed. 375 cataract patients’ have mobilised for cataract surgery.
- More than 70 families earned 20,000 to 30,000 per family per annum, after getting seed lac from community brood lac, production farm.
