A number of individuals and organizations contributed and supported SPAR in the past. To them SPAR owes thankful gratitude.
In its initial stage, SPAR earned patronage and support from Mr. Ranajit Manna of Sundarban Rural Development & Training Centre (SRDTC) ; Mr. Tapan Mandal of Agragati, Rashpur, Howrah ; Mr. Aloke Kumar Ghosh. Besides the sacrifice and support of the core group members like Mr. Sailesh Chakravarty, Mr. Rabindra Nath Middey, Mr. Rezaul Karim, Mr. Biman Mondal, Ms. Mali Mondal, late Sumit Sen and others, SPAR received encouragement from late Dr. Jyotirmoy Basu Roy Chowdhury, late Somen Banerjee, late Dr. Badal Sengupta of EZE, Bonn, Germany. Later, SPAR received co-operation and support from Dr. (Mrs.) Ranjana Ray and Mr. Udayan Ray. The ex-Presidents like Mr. D.K. Ghosh, IAS (erstwhile Secretary of Information) and Mr. A.K. Deb, IAS (now the Chief Secretary to the Govt. of West Bengal) also offered meaningful support to the growth of SPAR. We would remember the names of our friends and well wishers like Dr. Shamim Akhtar of Bangladesh, a renowned development thinker, including Mr. Santosh Chakraborty (erstwhile Director of Culture) and Ms. Suparna Deb (presently Accountant General, Govt. of India), who were editors of a number of journals of SPAR, still, a number of well wishers prefer to remain unnamed. |
