During the last decade SPAR has been taking initiatives to share its experience and expertise with other development actors in India and abroad. It has emerged with its main role as capacitator in respect of the people and the organisations working with the people at the grass roots level. This goes a long way to empower the people's organisations so that they may translate their dream of sustainable development into reality. For this they need to enhance their skill, knowledge and analytical faculties through a process of capacitation. Besides conducting training programme for the development workers of NGOs in India, Bangladesh and Nepal, SPAR has been publishing journals and papers to disseminate development education and discourse to a wide section of people. It has also been organising workshops, seminars, exposure trips and visits to share its ideology and experience with a number  organisations. A number of in-house capacitation sessions have also been organised for augmenting the skill and knowledge of workers of SPAR and its network organisations.

Being pioneer  in participatory approach in peoples life SPAR is engaged in consultancy work in India and other countries. This consultancy service has been particularly to NGOs in the Northeast and eastern India, in Bangladesh, Myanamar and Nepal. SPAR also organises national and international workshops on critical and important issues of developmental activities where NGOs from a number of countries participate.
